The transaction of disposal of 1,689,939 shares of LW Bogdanka S.A. effected by the State Treasury on 8 December 2009 pursuant to general rules, became a gateway for the commencement of the process of making the shares of LW Bogdanka S.A. available free of charge to eligible employees pursuant to the Act on Commercialisation and Privatisation of 30 August 1996.

The East Capital Awards have been held since 2004 to reward outstanding companies in Eastern Europe. This year's winners received their awards at a gala presentation dinner at the Concert Hall (Konserthuset) in Stockholm on 13 November 2009.

We are glad to announce the results of Lubelski Węgiel BOGDANKA S.A. for the first three quarters of the current year. From 1 January to 30 September 2009 the Company generated net profit in the amount of PLN 174.38 million and the operating profit at the level of PLN 213.3 million. Sales revenue in this period amounted to PLN 850.67 million. All values are significantly higher than the results achieved for the three quarters of 2008. The Company recorded also an increase in the gross margin – from 28.01% in 2008 up to 35.60%, as well as the net margin - from 16.32% in 2008 up to 20.50%.

As of October 1, 2009, Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. joined the national social campaign entitled “Occupational Risk in the Mining Industry”. The organiser of the campaign is the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute.

Between September 21 and 22, 2009, a conference entitled “Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka S.A. and Environmental Protection” was held in Kazimierz Dolny. The organiser of the meeting was the mine in Bogdanka. The Marshall of the Lublin Province, Mr. Krzysztof Grabczuk, held honorary auspices over the conference.
